May the Lord give you Shalom, in Yeshua’s Name. Amen. |
October, 2006
Dear Prayer Partners,
Greetings from rainy Israel. Yes, this morning we had the first
rain in Tel Aviv in over five months!! It was beautiful to see
and very refreshing. This was the night after prayers were said
for rain in the synagogues in Israel. God is amazing and so
faithful!
My husband, David, has written the prayer letter this month.
I've only added a photo of our son, Joshua's, graduation from
Officer's Training School. He has received a post as a commander
of a border crossing in Jerusalem. This is equivalent to being a
Gatekeeper in scripture. We would appreciate your prayers for
Joshua's blessing and protection in his new post. Much love,
Michaella
Yad B'yad ("hand in hand")
This summer another group of Israeli teenagers joined hand in
hand with German youth to walk through Auschwitz demonstrating
the power of the life, death and resurrection of our Lord Yeshua
to heal the deepest wounds of society. Each one of the 24 kids
tells how this journey brought deep reconciliation between our
peoples. All of them will tell you that their lives were changed
as they experienced the Holy Spirit in a whole new dimension
working comfort and healing one to another.
For Passover 2007 we are inviting all of those who have
participated in Yad B'yad from Germany and Israel over the last
2 years to come to Israel and spread the message that there is
hope in the Messiah for peace and reconciliation. These youth
are on fire to tell the people what Messiah is doing today and
we are believing for open doors into government and educational
agencies where they can share their
experiences. They also want to go out to the beaches and streets
and share their lives with the young people here.
We are building teams of young leaders who can carry this vision
to as many youth as possible. Karen is already mentoring some of
the Israeli youth who have been on these journeys and we are
also working with German youth leaders who can share this vision
around the country. We
believe this vision will impact nations.
World Gathering of Christian Indigenous Peoples
In September I had the privilege of attending the 6th World
Gathering in Davao City, Philippines where I meet indigenous
peoples from many different tribes and tongues. What a glorious
expression of worship and song! What color and beauty! What a
revelation of God's exquisite
creativity in the faces, eyes, smiles and cultures of the
indigenous peoples of the world. Honoring people made in the
image of God is honoring God.
Yet Christianity has often been the perpetrator of racial
prejudices and even slavery by promoting a westernized,
capitalistic gospel which did not honor the customs and
traditions of the local people groups. These world gatherings
are an important effort towards correcting this tragic
error by celebrating and honoring the worship, song, culture and
traditions of indigenous people groups.
The 7th gathering will be in Israel during Succoth 2008. Pray
with us as we prepare to host tribal and native peoples of the
world in Jerusalem. These are some of the most humble and
dedicated Christians I have ever met, and they love the Jewish
people as well. We expect high ranking government officials here
in Israel to be part of the welcoming committee to receive these
peoples onto our land. What an impact this gathering could have
on Israel, the first amongst all the nations.
Beit Immanuel
Every year the Jewish Holidays are a time of family celebration,
worship and fun. This year has been especially blessed as our
two oldest children have been home with us from the army and the
house is filled with friends, volunteers and guests. The team
from Centralia together with our volunteers have been amazing in
serving, worshipping, prayer and sharing God's love with the
whosoever of Beit Immanuel. Laurie White and the Lichty's and
team are becoming like Mom and Dad for all of us here. Together
we are developing the discipling program to prepare these young
men and women in a family like community for service and
outreach to Israel and the nations.
It's also a busy time for the Guest House where our these young
people serve so devotedly. This would be a great time for you to
plan a trip to Israel and experience for yourselves this unique
land of revelation. Spend time with God in our 24/7 prayer room,
worship and intercede at his feet every morning with people from
the nations and meet the people of the land here at our Guest
House.
We need a breakthrough for the Business License we have applied
for so that we can run a coffee house outreach in our garden as
well as other public and neighborhood activities. Please pray
for this and the court hearing we have on November 16 that we
will have favor with the municipality of Tel-Aviv.
November 17-18 we will be teaching another Parenting Seminar
with the Morning Star Fellowship in Tiberius. Please pray with
us for strong and flourishing families as here in Israel to be
able to demonstrate the blessings Yeshua brings.
This comes with much love for each one of you.
